Jaelina Villicana

Jaelina’s optional career began as a Level 6 in 2018. Her first meet began at the California Grand Invitational with a 1st on floor and 3rd on beam. Through this season, she consistently earned top five finishes on all events. At State, she had a solid performance all around and earned a 3rd place title on floor and beam and 4th AA. Her level 6 season concluded at the Region 1 Regional Championships with a remarkable 1st on bars, 1st on beam, and 1st All Around Regional Title with a 38.250

In 2019, Jaelina had a notably accomplished season! Under the guidance of coaches Melia O' Quinn and Ashot Gasparyan of San Mateo Gymnastics, she competed Level 7 and Level 8. Her first Level 7 meet took place Dec 2018 at the NorCal Judges Cup Level 7 State Team Qualifier. At this meet, she earned 1st on vault, 3rd on floor, and qualified 1st All Around to represent the Nor Cal Team at the National Judges Cup Level 7 State Team Challenge held in Kansas Mo Jan 2019. Here, she helped her team win the 1st place team title. She earned 1st on floor and beam, 3rd on bars, and 3rd All Around. Two weeks later, she began her Level 8 season at the Lady Luck Invitational where she earned a 2nd on beam and 1st on floor. Through the season, she continued to grow and evolve as a gymnast and contributed to her team in team placements. At State, she earned a 2nd on beam and 1st on floor and a 1st All Around State Champion Title with a 37.975. This qualified her for the Regional Championships for Region 1 where she earned a 2nd place floor title. Jaelina valued the experience of her 2019 season as the most memorable in her gymnastics career thus far, maturing as an athlete, and persevering through the rigors of gymnastics, commuting, academics, and a physical growth spurt.

2020, Jaelina completed a second year Level 8 under coaches Andrew and Erin Pileggi at Gymnastics Zone in Napa CA. During this season, she accomplished what she set out to do. She strengthened her skills on bars and vault. As a result, she showed greater consistency across all events, as well as improving her all around standings at each consecutive meet. The first meet took place at the National Judges Cup held in CA, where she earned a 2nd on floor and beam, 3rd on vault and bars and 2nd AA (36.975) The Texas Metroplex Challenge followed where she earned 1st on floor, 2nd on beam and bars, 4th on vault, and 1st AA (36.900) Next, came Las Vegas Brestyans Invitational with a 4th AA (37.125) At her home meet in Napa CA, she earned 1st AA (37.250) The season concluded at the Arizona Sun of the Valley Challenge with another 1st AA! (37.650) Her season accomplishments qualified her for 2020 NorCal States cancelled by the COVID pandemic.

2021 Jaelina is currently training level 9/10 and working hard to put her Level 9 routines together.
